How much does garage door roller replacement cost?
Most homeowners replace their rollers as part of a tune-up — Kooler Cares with new rollers is $285, which is the full tune-up plus a fresh set. A standalone roller-set replacement outside a tune-up is quoted on-site, because the price depends on your door size and whether you choose standard or sealed-bearing long-stem rollers. There's no trip fee, and your Kraftsman gives you a binding number with the Door Score.
What moves the price
Rollers are usually a while-we're-here job. Here's what sets the cost.
- During a tune-up. The cleanest path — Kooler Cares with rollers is $285, tune-up plus a fresh set, no separate trip.
- Roller quality. Standard rollers cost less; sealed-bearing long-stem rollers run quieter and last far longer. On a daily-use door, the upgrade pays for itself in quiet and lifespan.
- Door size. A double-car door has more rollers than a single, so a full set is a bit more. A Kraftsman counts and reads them during the Door Score.
- What else is going on. If worn rollers came with loose hinges or tired tracks, a Kraftsman flags it up front so the door runs smooth, not just quieter for a week.
The Door Score sets your exact price
Ranges tell you the neighborhood. The Door Score tells you your number. Every Kooler Kraftsman runs the same structured on-site read — door vitals, the operator, insulation, seals, rollers, hinges, and counterbalance — before any work starts.
That read is what makes the on-site price binding: no surprise add-ons, and you get Good / Better / Best options based on what the door actually needs. No diagnostic fee for the visit.
IDEA-certified Kraftsmen on staff
Colorado doesn't license garage-door contractors — so the credential that matters is the one the technician earns. Our Kraftsmen carry individual IDEA certifications from the Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation, the certification arm of the International Door Association. Kooler is a Raynor Premier Authorized Dealer, an IDA Preferred Provider, bonded and insured.
It's our standard to certify every Kraftsman within their first 12 months. They start in our apprenticeship, then work toward certification — IDEA certifies a technician for residential after a year in the field, and the same for commercial.
